What Easy English Conversation does

Easy English Conversation (EEC) is designed primarily to help you improve spoken English by practising realistic conversations aloud. Choose a conversation, listen to it, practise speaking it, test yourself and review your progress.

English is the main and default learning focus. EEC can also be used to practise other languages as an additional feature.

Learner guide

Start from the homepage

Choose Improve my English to enter the learner journey.

Test my English level

If you are unsure of your level, choose Test my English level. EEC uses CEFR levels A1 to C2. Choose the level you think is closest to your English now. The test helps you check your starting point.

EEC provides CEFR-aligned speaking practice. It does not issue an official CEFR certificate.

Choose a conversation

1. Check Language I'm learning.
2. Choose the level you want to practise.
3. Choose a Conversation group.
4. Choose the conversation you want to use.

Conversation groups keep related conversations together. For example, a Travel group might contain Airport, Hotel, Restaurant and Asking for Directions.

Listen

Choose Listen and then Start listening. Use this stage to become familiar with the speakers, vocabulary, pronunciation and rhythm.

Practise

Choose Practise and then Start practising. Work through the conversation one line at a time. Use Help and Repeat when needed. After a result, Practise these words lets you focus on individual difficult words.

Test

Choose Test and then Start test to try the conversation with less help.

Review your progress

Use Review my progress to see saved results and improvement.

Create my own conversation

1. Enter a Conversation title describing what you want to practise.
2. Choose Create it for me if you want EEC to generate the conversation.
3. Choose Type it myself if you want to write it yourself.

Join a teacher's conversation group

Choose Join a conversation group, enter the access code supplied by your teacher and send the request. Your teacher can then accept or approve it.

Choose Teach my students from the homepage. The main teacher workflow is:

Create → Share → Students join → Accept → Review progress

Create and organise

Create a conversation using Create it for me or Type it myself. A Conversation group holds related conversations and can be shared with students.

Share with students

1. Open Share a conversation group with your students.
2. Choose the conversation group.
3. Give students the access code.
4. Students request to join.
5. Accept or approve the students.

Review progress

Use the teacher progress area to review group and individual student results. Group and individual progress reports can also be printed or saved as PDF using the browser's Print function.

Create a free account: keep your conversations, progress and groups.

Sign in to my account: open an account you already created.

Website language controls menus, buttons and instructions. Language I'm learning controls the language you listen to, practise and test.

Microphone and audio

• Allow microphone access when your browser asks during speaking practice.
• If EEC cannot hear you, check the microphone selected in your browser or computer settings.
• If you cannot hear playback, check your device volume and browser audio permissions.
